Welcome to St Michael's

We hope you find that this website helps you to feel the warmth, happiness and enjoyment of learning that we are lucky enough to feel each day. Our children are great and always at the centre of our thinking. Our staff are driven to do their very best for each child that comes to our school. Our governors are committed to ensuring that through support and challenge St.Michael’s is a forward thinking and highly aspirational school.hands in the sand

St.Michael’s is an exciting place to be, the church and the town are unrelenting in their support for the children and the school. This means that the children have a significantly wide range of opportunities to become local citizens. The children know the town and the school prides itself on knowing the children and giving them experiences which they can take and build on as they move through their lives.

We don’t know the world that our children will be adults in; we can imagine and predict but we cannot be sure. It is therefore vital that we give children the skills to be learners who know when to be resilient individuals or when to confidently collaborate with others.

We aim for children to understand their place in the world and know that they can make the paths they wish. Whatever their interest, we aim for children to be active citizens, locally, nationally and globally. Within this fast, changing world of the internet, we make sure that our children are safe and confident with the thinking skills needed to communicate and learn and in addition, we value the more simple but amazing things in life - learning outdoors, growing things, cooking and eating together.

The children will need to be caring and loving to help themselves in the ever changing world with its great challenges. We aim to give them the experiences at St.Michael’s which will help them to build a faith in God to guide them in their lives.
