We are very lucky to have children within our school from very rich backgrounds and have children within our school who are fluent in French, Polish, Seychellois Creole, Tagalog (Filipino) and Norwegian.
We are also very lucky at St. Michael’s to have Madame Sturtridge, who teaches Modern Foreign Languages with a main focus on French in each class from Reception to Year 6.
In addition to the lessons, all children are welcome to attend French or Spanish Club which run on a Thursday after school in the school hall for a small charge.
We always welcome French and Spanish Exchange Students when they visit the area and held a very successful French day last year.
Madame Sturtridge is also investigating a school link and is supporting Lyme’s twinning with Barfleur, Normandy, France.
